2nd PA death from Carfentanil laced heroin confirmed

PA Department of Health has distributed a warning regarding the extreme danger to first responders and other professionals posed by the drug Carfentanil, recently discovered as a deadly component of heroin found in the Commonwealth and elsewhere. Use this link for more information: http://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/Health-Details.aspx?newsid=389

Carfentanil was previously used exclusively for veterinary use with large animals and is not approved for use in humans, as it has been shown to be 100 times more potent than fentanyl in animal studies.
